Building on its pioneering work in enabling end-to-end digital working for broadcasters, the DPP is pleased to announce the publication of version 7.0 of the AS-11 programme delivery documents.
The publication comprises two documents:
- DPP011 - Technical Requirements for the delivery of programmes using the AMWA AS-11 UK DPP HD file format, which defines technical parameters for High Definition (HD) programme file delivery
- DPP010 - Guidance for Production and Post Production of High-Definition (HD) Programmes, which defines best practices to help ensure that programmes are accepted by broadcasters
This major revision is the result of collaboration between the DPP and key stakeholders at the UK broadcasters.
Those broadcasters previously used a common DPP delivery specification. Following the DPP’s transition to a fully independent organisation in 2022, these new documents take the form of a reference which may be implemented by any broadcaster, commissioner, or content provider.
The initial releases are designed to meet the needs of the UK market, and if other interested parties would see value in future additions or variations, they should contact DPP Technology Strategist, David Thompson.
